Start with a built-in template

DocExtract comes with templates for dozens of document types. Find one that's close to what you need and click "Customize" to make a copy in your account.

Add, remove, and edit fields

Your copy is fully editable. Add new fields for data points that matter to your business. Remove fields you don't need. Change field types to match the data — text, number, date, currency, or yes/no.

Mark what's required

Set fields as required to tell the AI what must be found in every document. This helps the AI focus on the most important data.

Build from scratch

If none of the built-in templates fit, create a new one from scratch. Name it, add your fields, and start extracting. You can always adjust as you learn what works best.
