Templates control what gets extracted

Every document type in DocExtract has a template. The template lists the fields that should be pulled from the document — like "Total Amount," "Due Date," or "Vendor Name."

Customize any template

You can take any template and make it your own. Add new fields, remove ones you don't need, or change the field types. Your custom template is saved to your account.

Field types

Each field has a type — text, number, date, currency, or boolean (yes/no). Choosing the right type helps DocExtract find the data more accurately.

Start from scratch or copy

You can build a template from nothing, or start with one of our built-in templates and tweak it. Most people start by copying a template and adjusting the fields.
